[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The temperatures have climbed over 30° for several days now and the best way to escape this heat is to go to mountain areas. It's what I did and on a walk I found a meadow covered with this Orchis-flowers.
Unfortunately I'm not an Orchis specialist and I don't know if it is a Dactylorhiza-species, like D. majalis, or D. incarnata. What eventually could be useful for a correct ID is the fact that they have a lot of spots on their leaves.
Instead of taking just one orchis I wanted to show a larger view of the place.

I really like the low profile POV Anne, showing the one flower, nicely placed, in sharp detail and an impression of what the rest of the meadow may hold... TFS.

These Orchids are really beautiful...And you've captured them superbly.
Very well done!

Hallo Anne,

Hi Anne,
an effective low POV in this shot, your composition shows that these beautiful flowers are quite wide spead in this area. DOF is good, concentrating the eye on the main subject but allowing us to see that it doesn't stand alone.
I find the out of focus plant in the foreground a little distractng, but not enough to detract anything from this fine photograph, thanks for sharing it.
Paul

Hi Anne,
A fine macro capture of a awesome orchid from excellent low POV with neat details and excellent lit.
TFS and greetings from Kizkalesi (Mersin province)

Hello Anne,
I see that Spring has hit you hard in the heart again as it has everyone this year. The Orchis?/orchids are a beautiful flower, the purple compliments the greens perfectly.
In the workshop I have changed the saturation and hue slightly, as well as contrast.
Have a great week...
Steve

Hi Anne.
I welcome your decision to take whole composition created by grass and few flowers. You managed to do this perfectly. It is true art picture with great combination for sharpness and blurriness, amazing soft lights and delicate colours. Bokeh is simply wonderful. Bravo, well done. I do not like WS at all. It kills all charm of your picture.
My compliments and TFS.
Alexei.

Hy Anne
I think that it is a very good pov, excellent captured the environment were this orchids are growing. I really like it!
All the best, Oana

It is a rather unusual way to portray...drawing the eye to the right as this...not that it is under any rules...but all images give an emotion...not always sad, happy, pretty etc...but sometimes a bit more esoteric, leaving it up to the viewer as if a blank tablet but not...sort of a convoluted critique but having said that...this works well.
Bob

Bonjour Anne

Grazie e complimenti.
Buon pomeriggio
Con amicizia
Maurizio

Hello Anne,
A beautiful composition in lovely colours! I like your low POV with the grasses and one Orchid sharply in focus. Lovely to see others vaguely in the background. D. majalis has very spotty leaves but in our wetlands the flowers and leaves tend to be very large.
TFS and all the best, Ulla

Bonjour Anne,
