Hi all!

This lanscape somehow reflects my actual mood: a strange mixture of dark and bright. This will be my last posting for a couple of days or weeks. Sometimes in our life we have things to do that we wish to be as far away as the dark clouds in this picture and we would prefer to fully appreciate the sun and its warmth... But sometimes the course of life decides something different. I'm going to have a surgery on my right hand and probably will be out for some weeks...

I'll be back soon, and I'm looking to seeing you all here on TN again.

The picture has been taken about 500m from my house in Tentlingen, Kanton of Freiburg. In the backgrounf you can see the Cousimbert (Chäsebärg; 1633m) where you have a wonderful panoramic view on the plains and the Prealps.

Taken in RAW, level correction and sharpness before the import in PS; attenuation of the bright tones, little sharpness and saturation.

Kind regards

Markus

Nick..

Hello Markus,
Many thanks for sharing a fine composition of landscape with us!

the colour contrast here is real nice!
well done
take care and sincere regards
Tony

I've said it once and I'll say it again..you shoulda'/woulda' been a graphical artist. The fellow who designed my bobshannon.org logo...the one with many fading colours...He is a graphical artist who also happens to live in the wilderness and is an old hippie who makes like...well he charged me only 50 bucks for my logo..but normally he charges 250 for a small one like that..and he has done major big carved wood sign paintings...thousands..the guy is as rich as you should be with your graphic artist eye...I can already see you driving your fancy sports car with top down and scarf blowing in the wind as you drive along the roads near the ocean with a fine companion and bottle of wine...ah well sometimes photos create dreams....at least this one did for me....
Bob

Your "dark image" is a "bright" moment in my day. I love dark skies with sunlit foregrounds. It is a nice, almost abstract image. I hope what ever is keeping you from TN won't take too long. Don't forget us!

Evelynn : )

I like the way you framed this, to enhance the panoramic effect. The brilliant fields give the mood it needs. I like the rolling hills, and the distance in which you have your POV.

Hi Markus

Great, atmosperic shot of fleeting sunlight and approaching storm - a great summation of this year's weather. Well seen and captured.

Hello Markus,
What a beautiful view of this Swiss landscape. Your home
land is very pretty. Very nice composition and framing..
Well done..

Bonita toma Markus, y como suele ser habitual en tus trabajos, con un punto de melancolía y abierta a la interpretación. Tus tomas tienen todas un punto de misterio, al menos para mí.

Hi Markus,
I think the framing is a bit over powering and dominates the images too much for my tatse, but the actual image itself is a wonderful example of contrast. I also think you chose your POV well too.
I'm also going to take a break for a while...see you back here at some point no doubt, my friend.

Hello Markus. excellent wide perspective in stunning sharp detail. Good contrast of this very well metered shot. Well done and best regards. Jusni

beautiful postcard, surprisingly it looks like an arid country. TFS Ori

Hi Markus!

It been a while, and maybe will again be till we meet on TN but it's good to see your work even if for a blink again!

Life always brings bright and dark indeed, but while we see wonders like this I think it does feel more bright.

I hope you're doing fine my friend,
my best wishes
Andor

Lieber Markus,
Anne

Hi Markus,
Truly a very good lighting. The stormy sky and the sun on the field give character to the picture. Good panorama mounting.
I really like your panorama.

Hello Markus,

This is a splendid scene and your thick border works very well sandwiching the sky, mountains and fields between its strong lines.

There is a very big contrast between the dark and the bright areas: the bright in the f/g and the dark way beyond.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Ciao Markus,
Grazie.
Maurizio

panorama and excellent pov.

Lieber Markus,
Peter

Very nice photo! I hope you get well soon! And that everything be ok. Best Regards Josh Lewis.

Hi, Markus,

re: Narcissus under the rain
many thanks for your pointers and encouragement!! i agree with you - a larger depth of field should have been used.

btw, I like this homeland photo very much - very calm, peaceful and warm. My good friends and I love Europe, esp. Switzerland and the Netherlands a lot. and sometimes, we love to call them our "homeland", too - to show our fondness for the beautiful and cultured countries there : )

thanks for sharing. and I look forward to see more photos from your beautiful homeland!!

Hi Markus

Simple and beautiful, my friend - just perfect and enough to show the beautiful of your homeland.
The natural contrast here is stunning and the colors are surreal!
I love the curvy look of the hill near us here and the similar curve of the mountains in the back.
The clouds really add to the feel and atmosphere of the shot and complete this gorgeous composition.

Bravo and TFS
Horia

great scene, love the contrast between the well lit ground and the dark ominous clouds

Hi Markus,
I always like these types of weather conditions where there has just been rain or it soon will arrive. The way the sun then illuminates parts of the landscape against a dark sky gives a photo just tons of more impact. In this photo it is especially visable. The golden pasture has become so rich in color it normally would not be like that.
I like the panorama format as it shows only the essentials and leave no room to wonder away from the subject. Lovely work on all ellements of the photo.
TFS,
Niek
