PULSATILLA
Pasque flower
Kuhschelle
Pulsatille

Family: Renonculaceae

The genus Pulsatilla includes about 30 species. In Europe they occur especially in the Alpine regions
They live in tallgrass habitat and are among the fisrt flowers to appear after snowmelt. They are highly toxic. (Source: Wikipedia)
In my region we can find some varieties of these protected flowers. Their colour can go from yellow, white, different blues, pink to purple.
Here we have an example of pink ones. They are quite seldom. I think they are from the genus Pulsatilla alpine, which normally are purple. If I'm wrong, a rectification from a botanist is always welcome.

Hello Anne,
As I'm no botanist, to me these Pasque flowers look very similar to those flowering in Sweden now.
The technical merits of this image are great and I like the POV and composition showing the flower bracts and the foliage as well against a suitable OOF BG.
Thanks for sharing this beauty,
Best regards,
Ivan

Hi Anne,
Very nice picture of this flower in its natural surrounding. Perhaps all species of this genus have great medicinal value.
Thanks a lot for sharing this beautiful representative picture.

nice pic, I wonder which Pulsatilla is it. TFS Ori

Bonsoir Anne

Markus

Hello Anne,
Lovely details have been captured in this typical mountain flower!
Effective point of view to show the details, and the colours are well reproduced and stand out well in the plant's natural habitat...
Greetings,

:-) OK-

Hello Anne,
What a beautiful wild flower friend! Your capture is excellent in all criteria; splendid DOF, POV and framing. Perfect composition. TFS.
Cheers,

Bayram

Anne, there is this pure classical sort of look to the arrangement of flowers in this composition. Do you get what I mean? Reminds me of the kind of work women used to do on cloth with their own hands, maybe more than half a century ago.
Be that as it may, I have observed this phenomenon on TN with a degree of pleasure and surprise: women nature photographers tend to compose pictures of flora with the kind of aesthetic sense that is unique to the feminine.
Maybe I am sounding nuts here, so I might as well stop.
Your picture is just beautiful and that's all I need to say.
Regards,
Ram

Hi Anne,
Very beautiful flowers and you have captured them so cutely. Immaculate sharpness and lovely colours and the muted lighting makes the image look majestic. I like your low POV to portray it and the superb composition. Kudos.

Hello Anne,
I'm sorry to have overlooked this beautiful capture! These Pasque Flowers look simply gorgeous in their light pink colour and against the soft green background. I like the way they're leaning and the light is perfect to show off the hairy leaves. A lovely composition!
Many thanks, Ulla

Hi Anne.
Simply amazing shot of a wonderful plant and flowers. I like the scenery a lotm terrific DOF. It is really precise. Remote BG is well blurred and main subject is greatly sharpened and detailed. I also like fine soft lighting and delicate colour of the scene. So refined work. My compliments.
Alexei.
