The "Berne-Fribourg" chapter of TN is reporting (continued):

Anne showed us a wonderful natural steppe in Bürchen. The hoverfly is presumably a female Scaeva pyrastri (Diptera; Syrphidae; Grosstirn-Schwebfliege), approaching Phyteuma orbiculare. As it was an exercise in capturing a flying insect, the camera was hand held, the flash speed limited the neatness of the picture.

I think the picture is pretty neat. The blurry wings emphasizes the motion of the fly. The blue tonnes of the flower are captured nicely.

Excellent in-flight shot of this Scaeva. Excellent sharpness and very nice detail, the hair on the eyes are well visible. Very good light and beautiful colours.

Lieber Dieter,
Farblich sehr interessantes Bild und spezielle Komposition.Vielleich hättest Du auf der linken Seite die Blume direkt beim Stiel abschneiden können, aber ich bin mir nicht sicher. Du hilfst mir auch mit der ID der Fliege, die mir auch mehrmals unter die Linse gekommen ist.
