"the flora becomes him"...should be the name of a song or a play. The flower overwhelms the poor insect...it upstages him, but not in a way which detracts, yet as I had said to Ram about an image of his...it may be considered out of someones idea of what an image should look like, yet it takes on an art form unto itself. I think perhaps it is the dominant colour of violet. Almost a bluish violet colour...and yet the insect shares the image..Very nicely coposed!

Hallo Anne,
der Scheinbockkäfer ist wie auf dem Teller serviert. Schön, die Komposition! Die Blume ist Agrostemma githago Kornrade, ein Unkraut im Getreide, sie gehört zu den Nelkengewächsen (es ist sehr selten, dass ich etwas Botanisches weiss).

Wow, this flower is fantastic, what a wonderful colour and the Beetle is of course great too! We have many similar ones here, I find it very hard to identify them. Anyway, this one is very sharply in focus and shows those fat 'thighs' that some of them have. A lovely composition and a fine soft background too.
