You and Joey today both have unknown flies..perhaps you can help each other..I do know something that looks a bit like oats or some such as a perch. Whatever it is ...it makes the image work VERY well for it appears almost seasonal this way.

I am not sure (because of rather non-typical POV) how this fly looks like from profile, but it reminds me a little some species of Therevidae. There are some similar species (but really a little more "hairy").
Anyway, nice artistic pomposition :)

Hi Anne. This is a fly i have never seen before but i am sure someone will know. A unusual shape and colour to the body. you have good detail and anice POV/DOF. i like the plain coloured BG. well done TFS.

En premier j'aurais dit Dolichopidae en raison de la façon de se tenir de la mouche, mais je n'en ai pas trouvé de cette couleur. Je pense plutôt à une mouche de la famille Muscidae et probablement du genre Coenosia mais je n'ai pas trouvé l'espèce avec les pattes si foncées. Bonne composition et netteté. Très bonnes couleurs.

I've never seen a powder grey Fly before but when trying to look it up there seem to be a few similar to this one but I don't dare to guess! It is nicely in focus here showing sharp details, perhaps Ivan will come up with something! :-) I like your composition and the colours are beautiful.

originelle, gelungene Komposition! Portrait der Fliege rückwärts. Ich habe mich um die ID der Fliege vergeblich bemüht. Marie-Christine hat einen guten Vorschlag für die Gattung gemacht. Coenosiasp. sind Tigerfliegen, sie gehören in die Familie der Muscidae.
