The Piranha

From the 16th century, the conquistadors who dashed in the conquest of South America made of the piranha a mythical animal.
The piranha was described as a perfect machine to kill a cannibal thirsting for blood and an eater of man.
Since this predator continues to fascinate us and to feed the fantasies. But is the reality of the fish "eater of man" as high as the myth?

There are several sorts of piranhas among them five are really dangerous for the man. Among the most dangerous we can quote Serrasalmus piranha and Serrasalmus natteri.
The size of piranhas varies between 15 and 60 cms according to the sorts.
What fascinates most at this predator is his mouth. She is in the form of pincers and armed of powerful jaws in the prominent bottom.
His teeth sharp as razor blades are slightly curved. It is thanks to this particular shape that piranhas can tear away fragments of flesh to their victims.

Je ne savais pas que c'était si dangereux de se baigner à La Chaux. Belle composition et excellents détails à travers le verre. La lumière est sympa aussi.
Salutations Toni

What has surprised me when I saw these Piranhas if how small they are, even smaller that 15cms I think. But as you say, they can grow up to 60cms. That is BIG. Good job Quenton, the fish looks good. TFS.
