Grey heron in-flight

A fairly common bird, but a premiere for me nonetheless: My first decent in-flight!

Its huge size, pale grey plumage and distinctive shape distinguish it from all other birds. The adult is whiter on the neck than the juvenile and has longer black tufts hanging down its nape.

Hello Gabi!
Wonderful in flight capture.DOF,POV,colors, framing, lighting, details and composition are excellent.TFS...:-)

Hi Gabi, you captured this heron beautifully. Shots like this are very difficult. The only thing I think could be improved is the color of the sky. A nice shade of blue would look better than the dull gray. The sky where I live is about the same color unless I go to higher elevations to get above the smog. I did a workshop to show you what it would look like with an adjustment of the sky color. I hope you find it helpful. TFS!

Félicitations !!

Hi Gabi, great in-flight capture with good detail and exposure. TFS Well done.

This is very nice, Gabi. Well presented and composed. I believe the underwing is a bit "smoothed" and you lost some texture, it could be from noise removal?

I did a WS just to show how one could get the sky to pop out. I hope you like it.

Fantastic picture of this bird in flight. These shots are never easy!

Well done and thanks for sharing.
