Hello my Friends!
Today a short come back to summer 2005 and to my visit on Crimean Peninsula ;>

Most part of Crimean Peninsula, especially in its middle part, are mountain areas. And some of these places I presented earlier here and here. But if you go east, and finally visit the most eastern part of Crimea - Kerch Peninsula, you will be in very special and unique type of habitat. You will be in the steppe area. And such kind of natural habitat you can see on this picture :>

The name "steppe" comes from Russian and means a plain without any single tree, overgroving only by short grasses and mosaic of different flowers. It is characterized by high temperatures during summer seasons and cold winters. Ukrainian steppes from the area of Crimean Peninsula, including these from Kerch region, are one of the biggest in the world (the biggest are in Russia).

Moreover, the steppes of Kerch Peninsula "make a border" between Black Sea and Azov Sea (which really is a part of Black Sea).

This picture was taken about 2 km E from Jenikale, Leninskyi Raion, Kerch Peninsula. It was about +32-35C, and of course no rain, no stream or river... :>

And last but not least, I would like to dedicate this photo to my very good friend Krzysztof (cataclysta) with whom very soon I and some our other friends will go for the next trip, this time to Macedonia :>

Hi Radomir,
Beautiful scene from a distant country. The simplicity and ambience is breath-taking. The overlapping horizontal plains, the blue sky and the FG grass flowers make it look appealing, charming and fresh. What a wonderful place to be in Radomir. Very nicely composed. Kudos.

Hi Radomir.
It is really true South Ukraine (including Odessa region) view. I like it very much. Picture is composed, coloured and sharpened extremely well. Only one point. I do not feel the summer heat which is peculiar to this place. May be sun was covered by clouds. Of course, this is not a lack. I welcome your Ukrainian postcard so much (as well as the others.) My compliments and best wishes for next trip.
Alexei.

Hi Radomir,
Nice photo of the rolling grasslands. I assume these grasslands are very green in Spring time. Simple but nice photo.
regards
Matt.

Magnifique photo avec divers plans et beau jeu de couleurs.
Bravo
Marie

This shot demonstrates what Steppes look like, Radomir -- slightly undulating flatlands with very few trees on it and with a profusion of tall grasses. I used to read about it in my school geography lessons years ago.
I like this image for its documentary value.
TFS and regards.

Hello Radomir
This is a most interesting shot, not only for its beautiful and excellent making but for the view of such a big expanse of land uncultivated and unexploited, with no country houses nor barracks, not rotulated patches nor fences, and no power lines either. Something like it could not be seen in Spain, where almost every single piece of land has a human trace wherever it is plain or not.
It is so interesting to know about the Crimean Peninsula and about the "steppes" and what they mean!
Excellent job, my friend.
Thank you very much for sharing.
Best wishes
Maite

Hello Radomir,
That's is a very fine and beautiful composed picture of this Crimean landscape. Coming fom an mountain area I like especially wide and open landscapes like this. The colour-palette is so subtle, like a painter would have chosen very fine nuances to show it as its best.
Well seen Radomir
Best regards
Anne

Hello Radomir,
Interesting landscape, vast and untouched. Composition is nicely balanced with a rich foreground and sufficient amount of sky. I like the pastel colors.
Best wishes,
Hakan

Una preciosa explanada, con un color tenue el de la hierba crecida.
Perfectos tonos muy bien saturados.
Un saludo, JL.
