Today the third part of dedications for friends helping me in building of the "PES" gallery :)

This time the picture goes to Krzysztof (cataclysta).
I know Krzys that this is does not present your favourite group of insects - butterlies, but it was taken in your favourite area - Crimean Peninsula :)

A photo presents a male specimen of a long-horned beetle Lamia textor (Linnaeus, 1758) (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae: Lamiinae) and was taken in Bolszoj Kanion (Great Canyon) a few kilometers SE from Bahkchisaraj.
Since 1947 this area is protected as "zakaznik" "Bojszoj Kanion Kryma" (=Great Canyon of Crimea).
Ukrainian "zakaznik" is a kind of landscape nature reserve.

This species is rather medium sized as for European Cerambicydae - only 15-32 mm.

It lives in forest areas where its larvae occupy different species of wilows Salix spp., and sometimes also other tree species (Alnus, Populus, and Betula).
A life cycle takes 3-4 years, and after this period adults appear. They can be found from April to October in the some woodland habitats.

Lamia textor is the only one member of this genus in Europe and one of 5 species of tribus Lamiini known from W Palaearctic.

I hope you will like this beetle :)

Dear Radomir,
I am pleased to be the first to sing my praise: Lamia is of course a beautiful and mysterious animal but notoriously difficult to capture on film: it is rarely found, it is black and it does nothing much exciting except chirp. But you rendered all the beauty so well. It's the composition the sharpness and the fitting background that help. A proper dedication to Krzysztof!
Thanks for sharing,
Be good, Dietrich

Hello Radomir,
Fine capture of L. textor, well presented with good sharpness and excellent lighting that shows it up.
This species is rare in Sweden now, at least it is not reported that often.

This great shot is a very suitable dedication to Krzysztof.
TFS and best wishes, Ivan

Hi Radomir.
Funny pose and excellent reproduction of all details of this cute bug. I like your cropping which allowed the show whole insect including his antennas. Very well selected POV and DOF. Perfect done and TFS.

Wielkie dzieki za mila dedykacje. Oczywiscie potrafie docenic rowniez takiego rogatego zwierza. Nie tylko motylki maja u mnie szanse :-) a kozy to moje ulubione chrzaszcze tym bardziej dedykacja trafiona.

Jesli chodzi o techniczna ocene to podoba mi sie widok z profilu i dobra ostrosc glownego obiektu. Moze tylko tlo jest troche rozpraszajace

Hi Radomir
Nice shot.
Good composition and sharpness.
I like it.

To zdjecie jest dla mnie przeostrzone i wyglada troche nienaturalnie. Na glowie, przedpleczu i pokrywach bliki wygladaja nienaturalnie, a lekkie rozmycie uwiarygodnilo by fote.
Pozdrawiam
Piotrek
