Elena, this fungus seems to be taking over the stump :) Colors are a bit dark and lacking detail in those areas.

Hi Elena,

your good photo shows Polyporus squamosus (Hudson 1778) Fries 1821, a very common specie all over the world.
In ancient times the genus Polyporus (istituted by Fries in 1815) was included in the genus Boletus; in fact, Polyporus squamosus was published the first time (when it was found by William Hudson in 1778) as Boletus squamosus.
