Hi Alexei. Its good to see you MF. I hope you are keeping well. This is a fine close up of this little Hoverfly. Its a shame about the lens . This one has turned out well with fine detai land bright colours. I like the POV looking down on the fly. well done TFS.

Finísimo macro de gran realismo Alexei. Como siempre haciendo una demostración de tus habilidades en todos los terrenos !
Hoy pocas personas que obtengan tanto rendimiento de esa lente que muchos creen que no tiene calidad... tú demuestras todo lo contrario y tu trabajo supera niveles de calidad de lentes de focales dos y tres veces inferiores jajaja.

Welcome back with this technically and aesthetically great macro capture of these great duo (flower and hoverfly) with from nice POV with impeccable clarity and fine composition. It is very intereting that you do not like the results of the Sigma lens which i also had the same one. In that case, i wondered if you use it macro mode while managing your shots. Because i glad its results so much.

Welcome back with this lovely hoverfly, Sphaerophoria scripta. The light is very well managed, also thanks to the form of the flower maybe.
About the lens, I have also this Sigma 70-300 for Canon. For macro shots, I prefer the 100mm macro which gives better sharpness, contrasts and colors. But the 100-300 is useful for shy insects, including butterflies. Best regards,

bentornato su TN. Era molto tempo che non postavi una tua foto e subito l'ho notata tra le tante: il tuo stile è inconfondibile. Il modo di ritrarre gli insetti ed i fiori che ci proponi è davvero affascinante. Come ad esempio il ritratto di questa interessante hover fly i cui colori e dettagli, grazie ad un'eccellente messa a fuoco spicano in tridimensionalità sopra al bellissimo fiori i cui particolari non sono certo da meno. Ottima la gestione della luce che valorizza ancor più i colori che sono davvero uno spettacolo da vedere ed ammirare.

Hi Alexei,
don't be "desperate" if you are not regularely able to show up on TN. People have noticed your latest "Long hoverfly" (Sphaerophoria scripta (L.)) after all! Nice, how it enters the really big Campanula flower. It seemingly spreads around the pollen like an unruly child spreads around the bread crumbs. Very nice perspective! The lens seems to work alright too.

We have all been through this stage. I am coming after a long absence...My mobility device has not yet been replaced...so I take photos in quite the pain now...for a while until my funds come in...BUT

having said that, I added this to my blue themes because the flora almost overpowers the small insect...yet the insect is spot on clear...all teh while I think blue..it works for me!

happy to see a fresh posting from you after quite a while! Strikingly well lighted, very precisely detailed, simple and clear with a pleasantly positive message. Composition is very good, too - maybe feeling tempted to crop the image at its right border into approximately square format - this might add further tension and concentration on just the flower and its cute visitor.
So good to see you active again on this site, my dear friend.
