Another shot from your morning studies in your garden...and another succesfull experiment :)
I really find it very useful to see you use all those great lenses you have and in different combinations - with teleconverter or not, with ring-flash, normal flash or no flash...it gives me a good idea what i will face next year when the insects come back to life.
A good quality macro here, too.
The colors here from the insect and rose are again lovely and presented well by you, through a good exposure.
Focus is very good and sharp (was it manual or auto?) and that gave you clear details for your subject. The shot from the WS is good as well.
Splendid DOF that keeps not only the cricket in great focus, but also the entire rose, while still giving you a charming bokeh for the BG.
All-in-all: wonderful work, my friend.

This serie is so exciting!
I like so much the beautiful colours if this rose, it's like if the light helps to increase the gorgeous tones of it.
As you mentioned, the insect's colour is very similar to the petals, but even so can be appreciated with clarity.
This is really a first class lodging to spent a night!

Very interesting observations.The suite at the Rose Hotel must be very aromatic.
The lighting is warm and the exposure and colours are very good.

It took me 2 times to realize that there is an insect here! It is true that the camouflage works very well here for this predator... I'm surprised that this one stays on rose only during the night! Very strange behavior... Where was he during the day!!!??? :-/

You use a square composition and centered the rose in it... and it works well!!! In fact the insect being in the lower left of the picture, the 1/3 rule works perfectly!

O. pellucens looks good in his rose hotel and both the rose, (A Hybrid Tea variety known as 'Remember Me', I think) and the insect are well illuminated in the natural lighting. Of course the composition and BG are up to your high standard.
