It is one of my favourite moths. Great photo. I like fieldguide POV. Sharpness is perfect and background is nicely blured. Maybe you could crop it a little bit from the top but it is a very individual thing ;-)

Hi Alexei . I would be very happy to have taken this. You were very luck to get so many pictures at different times of the day. It may be your grandaughter that brings you the luck. You have taken this mouth with good detail and bright natural colours. A good top POV so we can see the wing markings.stands out well from the blurred BG. Well done TFS.

Nice macro from the summer!
Classic POV taken with excellent sharpness to portray this S. phegea in the best way that would make a fine illustation of this species in any moth book. The diffuse natural BG and composition add to the high quality of this shot.
Great that you can show yor granddaugter such beauties in nature I look forward to be able to do this with mine but she is not yet three!

This Nine-spotted Moth was destined to be made immortal on TN through the hands of an ace nature photographer, and here it is!
What a beauty!
The light is perfect here, making the image bright, crisp and colourful.
The image looks so real I feel as if I am seeing the subject with my own eyes.
I too have a three years old grand daughter who chatters like a magpie all the time, but she is the love of my life :).

you have managed excellent dof , the total insect body is in sharp focus, the smooth oof green bg offers good contrast to the moth, the lighting is superb and the image is well exposed, the metalic shine of the wings and the body adds to the look of the insects, a pleasing composition and fine point of view,

I don't like this photo at all. I love it! You managed to capture a wonderful pose with perfect detail. The colours are vibrant and there are so many details to appreciate. I especially refer to the impressive and most elegant wingspan, and the detail of the white spots captured. Exposure, framing and focus are excellent. Dear Alexei,
there is a beautiful tender light in this perfectly well composed presentation of Amata phegea. That day active moth is quite often to be seen in the river forests around Vienna, too, in those splendid days of early summer when vegetaion is still fresh, the power of the sun at its summit, and everybody is thinking of just celebrating life outdoors.
Amata is quite difficult to photograph because of its very hard contrasts. Once more, you provided a very skillful and artistic image.

What a wonderful shot of this Nine-spotted moth! Syntomis phegea lives also on my meadow, but I never had the opportunity to catch it. It simply was too fast! And I would congratulate you for this really most beautiful shot, you realized after several encounters with the moth! I'm especiallly fond of the colors of this picture and the splendid sharpness of this rather dark moth.

Hi Alex!

After the wonderful pictures of the gulls, this picture is totally different and also beautiful, although the impact is not as spectacular.

I like the position of the moth with the wings spread out. The perfect sharpness reveals rich details. I also like the diagonal composition of the haulmes. It's a classical, yet very pleasant butterfly picture.
