I think this is just such case when 911 is needed.

Theses days I have watched few occurrences, when crow babies have left their nests on the trees, which surrounding our houses in the city. It is rather painful scene. The youthful birds do not know what to do. They are helpless absolutely. They have appeared face to face with full of dangers world. Their parents are flying around, cry loudly but cannot do anything. However, our rescue service does not take part in such affairs.

I do not know what will happen in a few hours with this cute little crow. I hope it will be lucky. Take care, little guy.
_____

It was unusual photo session. I had opportunity to test borrowed new AF-S Nikkor 50 mm f/1.4G lens one or two days. In the morning, I had a walk on school backyard to take few shots. I have found out a very unpleasant bokeh at f/1.4 and tried to learn the features of the lens better. However, I could not pass this crow baby. This silly little chap allowed me to take shots from distance about 1 meter. I have taken many shots of the guy and share one with you. I hope you will wish it good luck too.
_____

I am very grateful to all for warm words of a congratulation on my three-year stay here.

Shot info
In–camera jpg-format.
Almost without any PP.
Cropped a bit and resized.
_____

P.S. Unfortunately, shot is saved with 50% quality as I have noticed after sharing. It is my fault.

Hi Alexei,
Outstanding shot of this crow percehed so very elegantly on a worn out tyre. Immaculate sharpness and clarity and superb natural light handling. The DOF and your POV are great too. Kudos.

Hallo Alexei
If it was not for the baby fluff on the bird’s chest, one would never say this is still a youngster, because of the size. You have captured this crow very well. I am astounded by the light blue eye. It is very striking and catching and almost has magnetism to it. It is a beautiful bird. What I also find rather interesting is its paws and legs. Although this is still a baby, the legs look like that of an old bird legs. I like the centred composition and the great pose. Thanks for sharing. Kind regards.
Anna

Hi Alexei
Nice shot, the DOF is perfect this time, getting perfect details of the bird and leaving the FG and BG gently blured. Nice warm light too.

Hi Alexei,
All crow removed to towns and here in the village countryside very hard to meet them. I haven't seen maybe form one year. On your photo this juvenile look very joyful on the old tire.
Best regards, Pawel

Hi Alexei,

As well a hooded (I think) crow today,a youngster and what I notice is the blueish eye??,as I only no them with black eyes, the BG is a bit distracting in this compo, but I like the fact that you could approach him and that he was not affraid or that the parents did not protect him, thanks

Serncillamente preciosa.

You hve captued this young one as pefectly as possible - details and exposure on the black plumage are perfect, his pose is wonderful, the colors are natural and pleasant, the composition is excellent. Very well done !

Hello Alex!

Good to hear from you for this post an "raven teen, very thoughtful obviously" the poor is still a little disheveled, but definitely these birds go ahead, thanks mainly to a privileged intelligence as I understand.
Good including humanized elements in the picture. Why add to the pensive gaze of the young bird. Good approach work, especially if one takes into account that you walk in "learning period" with your new lens.

Regards,

Jesus

Hi Alexei,

I wouldn't have known this was a baby because of its size. He is lovely with a beautiful eye. An excellent shot in a most unusual setting. Fine details of his face and feathers. I do hope he makes his way in this world. I doubt that our rescue services would do anything in this case either. Sad.

Hello Alexei,
I like young Crows, as you say they seem so helpless! I captured one closely in our garden last year and he really took a liking to me and now returns frequently as an adult to the bird bath and is really tame compared to his noisy and shy friends! I also like their fluffy appearance that you show nicely here. An excellent sharp capture showing it in a nice pose.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

Hello Alexei
a fine capture of this baby crow, great sharpness with a lot of fine details on his plumage and his eye, excellent colors and POV of his profil
a very great shot
I hope also, it will be lucky
Have a good night

Thank you very much for your warm words on my 900th post, Alexei.
I must say that you have captured a great picture while testing the new lens and that too shot in jpeg format. Surprisingly, the worn-out tyre goes well in this composition.
I appreciate your concern for the safety of the baby Crow, but then that's the law of nature. Even we human beings do take that first tentative step outside parental protection and security at one time or the other.
Thanks for sharing this simple but beautiful picture and also for your very compassionate note.

Hello Alex,
The same stories happened around here, Alex. Only I'm not so keen on these birds, since I have seen their mothers take little babies of small birds to feed them to their young crows..
last week one of these crow babies fell out of its nest and its mother attacked every human approaching, almost like in Hitchkock's film.
Your picture is-like always- well taken, amazing details of the plumage can be seen and I know it is not easy to make good pictures of these birds.
Thanks and a nice weekend
Anne

Hi Alexei,

nice capture from this crow.

Alexei,
Such a sad, sad story.
Fortunately this does not happen to any being within Canada.
We are truely BLESSED here.
Very touching scene even without the explanation within your notes.... what I mean is that this image is "SELF-EXPLANATORY" of the creature in agony of hunger & thirst & pain. Simlpy OUTSTANDING JOB, Alexei.
Regards from the COLD.

Superb shot, Alexei!I like the note, too!
