A very colourful palette, it's almost a summer-picture. Somehow I missed this sunny picture. You are right, field-flowers are in general more attractive to all kinds of insects that cultivated ones. And somehow they have more finesse too.

This year we have many Painted Ladies that have come to us from the South of Europe but I have not succeeded in taking as fine shot as this and most of them are worn out an not as colourful as this one.
Great composition with the yellow flowers, excellent sharpness and DOF and fine contrasting neutral (secret) BG.

You are so fortunate that you are young and can run after this species; I can't anymore. They are FAR TOO FAST FOR ME.
I've seen them this year; but, I've had a hard time coping. That's why I'm getting the new lens 180mm.

This painted lady is certainly showing herself off to her best, with open wings to reveal the colours and patterns which you have captured to perfection with a sharp focus and fine saturation.

I notice that you have posted many pictures during my absence, and I would like to tell you that it was a great pleasure to go through your last pictures. I'm impressed by the quality as well as by the diversity of your gallery.

The Painted Lady may be a quite well known butterfly here on TN, but rare are the persons that are able to present it in such a beautiful manner. Your title suits the impression generated by the subject very well. The colours and objects represented in your picture are typical and symbolic for the spring season. Moreover, the superb depth of view reveals fine details. As it often happens with digital photography nowadays, you did not do the mistake to oversaturate your picture and to contrast it too much. This gives it a delicate and natural aspect.

Dear Alexei,
delightfully sunny colours in this pretty portrait of the Painted Lady, a pleasure to look at. This year, there are so many of these pretty Cosmopolitan butterflies. I remember that exactly around May 17, thousands and thousands of them were crossing Austria heading north. Experts' estimations counted 200 million individuals crossing our country over a distance of several hundred kilometers, the largest swarm of butterflies ever reported from Central Europe. Yours seems to enjoy a nice relaxing break in your garden.

This is such a lovely butterfly with the most spectacular patterns and markings on the wings. If this was a colouring picture any child will get lost not knowing which colour to use to bring this beauty to justice. I like the way you placed the insect in the middle of the frame. This way one can observe and appreciate the finer details of the butterfly to a great extent.The colour of the flower and of the background compliments this lovely insect. Although common and widespread, he's still very beautiful and it's a real pleasure for the eye to see them on pictures.
