[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The White Stork having for centuries set up its nests near human settlements is regarded with affection, and strongly connected to European culture and tradition.

White Storks build their nests near human settlements and make use of agricultural land. Farming activity gives storks a "table of plenty" (rodents, amphibians, insects, etc.) allowing them to gather to feed in fields. Mostly, however, storks seek food and tranquility in meadows, pastures, flooded areas, ponds, rivers, and stream valleys. As a proverb puts it, "Storks like their feet wet."

Well Sochirca,
It's an very good one you send us. By us it's called in Dutch an ooienvaar. You have made a good composition, with good colours and a very good note, well done.

The stork is very well seen in a well relaxed pose. The BG is a little over exposed because the stork is in so much shade, you could ether use burntool to darken the bright areas, or select thewhole of that bit and selectivly adjust the brightness and contrast a little so it does'nt stand out so much.

Sochirca, As stated this has good composition, good color & good supporting note. If you're like me? you're operating WITHOUT the benefit of photo-shop tools. If not it seems Roberts remarks should be highly relevent to you!

Agreeing with Robert about the background and knowing very well that you cann't always get everything the way you want I would say that you did a great job under difficult conditions. The main subject is well exposed and the composition/cropping is perfect.

Excelente captura Dan.
Gran composicion con excelente definicion y nitidez incluso en los tonos blancos, tan dificiles en general.
El detalle en las plumas es maravilloso.

Excellent capture Dan.
Great composition with excellent definition and clearness even in the white, so difficult tones in general.
The detail in the pens is wonderful.

Very nice picture Sochirca, There are some very bright areas in the background and the leaves in the bottom right of the frame is slightly distracting. But I think you did very well with hard conditions. Good work.

You did well in difficult circumstances. You were faced with a lot of contrasts in this shot, sun and shadow as well as black and white (in the shade). You are brave to shoot in these conditions and it made the best of it. The whites on the stork is excellent. Thanks for posting

et ou est le bébé? Belle capture avec un rendu formidable de la couleur mise en valeur par la profondeur de champ bien choisie. Peut-être un peu trop lumineux à l'arrière. Encore. Rudy.

Excellent picture Sochirca of this wonderful bird. Even though I like the soft tones of this picture I tried a workshop To see how it would look otherwise.

Yes this is an nice capture. Very nicely done. Thanx for sharing.

Fantastic in light and soft colours, this "Ooievaar", great shot, Sorchica !
Very well done !

Excellent view of the stork. As others have noted, and I am sure you are aware, the background is overexposed, because you had to expose for the stork. I doubt that the background has enough detail to be resuced in PS without it going muddy, and you can see how hard an improvement is to get in deud's workshop. If possible, you coild have used even the on camera flash to fill in the stork a bit and reduce the overexposure in the background.

Very Good Photo !

Excellent view of the stork.

I love this shot!
Light is beautiful, even if the BG is overexposed. In fact details in the bird are excellent and the BG have some kind of old painting looking. I tried a workshop on it. Hope you like it. TFS
