I was really sad to hear that Steve Irwin was killed today while filming a documetary off the coast of Austrailia.

This is just my little tribute to the 'Crocodile Hunter'

TFS Kyle

I was sad too to hear this as well. I was waked up with this news actually.

Nice way to send a tribute to a nature lover, a bit crazy but he was able to make the people discover the nature like no one else before.

Nice tribute Alan, just read the news..
Sad story..and a reminder that life is a fragile thing at best.

O my god - Alan,
I haven't heared about the death of Steve - I'm shocked!!!
I loved his documentaries so much, he was a funny guy - sometimes a little too enthusiastic - but with interesting films and also his wife is wonderful.
Normaly I don't like crocodiles - I visited a farm in Indonesia, it was so sad to see them in small pools waiting to become a bag or some shoes. Thanks for your shot and the Info, now I'm also a little sad, bye

A nice tribute to Steve. Such a tragic way to go.

Your Crocodiles look so calm and content. They do have very cute eyes. Are these young Crocs? Be safe out there everyone!

Hi Alan,
Tragic news indeed, a freak accident by all accounts, even more so considering the way he went about his life. A nice tribute and a great shot, I'm sure he would have loved it :-) Good post.
Cheers,
Adrian

Hi Alan,
Yes, i heard that sad news too! Stewe Irwin was sting from his chest by a stingray, hitting to its heart unfortunately. Experts said that the stingray only sting in its defense mode. Maybe he got so close to it. Really a sad news. i appreciated this tribute post. Great pov and interesting framing here.

Hi Alan,

I think all of us are feeling sad and a bit emptyed by his sudden disparition. For many young guys that are doing nature photography (including in this site) he was the guy that started the flame of passion for nature and the beauty of wild critters.
Your photo is a good and well deserved homage payed to him. May he rest in peace.

Cheers, Petru

This is a touching idea Alan. When I heard about this sad news earlier today, I imagined that someone will think about a kind of tribute on TN... I'm sure that he would have liked your photo. Nice thought. TFS,
Claudine

A good photo for a nice idea of tribute. Congratulations Alan and thanks for sharing.

I just posted a photo with same feeling in heart. A sad day to know "Crickey" will never sound the same...

Hi Alan,
A fitting photo for a tribute to a man who really brought nature up front and center to the masses. He really raised the awarness level to many people who would not generally care that much about nature shows.

Hi, Alan.
This is certainly a great loss to all nature lovers. I hope they have a lot of his work on tape. Nice shot.

R.I.P: the 'Croc hunter' our hero.
Steve Irwin made me love snakes and crocodiles and understand that we don't have fear of these animal.

Andrea

Hello Alan,

A fine tribute, well chosen subjects....

Good details, fine colours in those most primitive creatures!
It is like they are smiling when they see food, but I don't think it is you this time...
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hello Alan,
Excellent tribute for Steve, surely he would be contented with this photo.
Nice composition with good details on reptiles; the colours and illumination are well; they are camouflaged in this environment.
Regards
Hernán

Oh yes, I was sad about Steve Irwin too. My Aussie friends are crying in their beers, for sure!

Speaking of beers, where have you been? I haven't heard from you in a while! Hope all is well across the pond.

Your friend from the land of too many documentaries about 9/11 tonight!
