[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I've got more swan photos than I think are good for me. :-) But I couldn't resist posting this one of a territorial dispute. It's actually a rather ugly picture, when you think about it, but it does show the true nature of the swan; tough and territorial, especially at this time of the year. Had a hard time thinking of a title, and the one I settled on is a little lame, but the others such as "Help, I'm Stuck" or "Get Off My Back" didn't do much for me, either.

Didn't do much with this one other than crop a bit off the right to try and attain a reasonable composition. Used unsharp mask, rather than clarify to remove 'haze' and improve the contrast.

As always, any suggestions for improving the shot are welcome.

Hi Michele,

whata strange looking moment you've captured here, seems like they're doing the conga! Like you say though, in truth it's actually quite a violent scene, we all know how aggressive Swans can be over their territory.
Exposure seems good, with nice movement in the water too. Good work, thanks for sharing..

interesting action shot. i'd lighten it a tad. nice reflection of lead swans head in the water.
