[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken in the "height" (ha ha) of our summer. It's a male Common Darter perched on a dried stalk. I think he looks quite a sight framed against the blue sky. I was on the ground to take this shot, he flew away a couple of times but fortunately came back. I saw some Common and Ruddy Darters this weekend, so there are still some about.

Well that's a blast of a summer gone. I hope you like the picture.

A very nice capture against a 'rare' blue sky!
Excellent composition,colours and detail.
Very well done.

Another nice capture Paul with great perspective and impressive detail. Well done.

Very nice one Paul,
I really like the shot, the colours are great and the contrast is very nice, very good note as well, great job

Paul, Great detail as usual in your images. Like the reds against the blue sky, nice. Your Darters wings are well seen with good DOF through-out. And hey, I don't mind that summers gone here - it gets too darn hot!!Well done Paul!

Now you have reached perfection, must invent something new, Paul!
I look at your posts to see how I want my photos to be. Thanks very much.

Décidement Paul fait des merveilles avec son Olympus ;-) Belle libellule bien colorée et nette.
Well done !

Great macro Paul
Very good pose, nice DOF,
good sharpness and nice colours.
Well done.

Hi Paul
Nothing beats a clean, uncluttered BG! VERy nice D'fly here. Do I hear the call of a bee-eater? Hope you fing other nice stuff to shoot with winter coming.
BTW, I was 5 meter below the weaver, shooting right up into the sky.

This is a very pleasing capture with the blue sky as BG. Your details are astounding. The shadows of the veins on the thorax even more so. I hope you can still get a couple before they vanish in winter.

Los ultimos atisbos del verano... aquí recién comienza la primavera... jejeje.
Hermosa imagen con gran nitidez y muy buena composicion a partir de la percha en diagonal.
Bravo!.

The last inkling of the summer... just begins the spring here... jejeje.

Good macro of a dragonfly, sharp and nicely colored on this blue background. You were right to be on the ground to shot it. Well done. I know it's difficult to get a dragonfly in the camera, i actually spent my afternoon to try for only 5 good shots.

Beautiful capture, great colours and good DOF and you really had luck with the background ;-))

I have deleted all the dragonfly photos I took this summer. If I had taken this one, Paul, it would now be on my living-room wall, along with my best shots. Your photo has everything mine lacked: sharpness, details, uncluttered background, composition and grace. I am impressed.

Great DOF. Fine background indeed. I like it. Fine shot.

Paul, great shot, great summer "height". I have the feeling the insect was striking a pose.
