Here is an old shot of the ChalkHill Blue Lysandra coridon that I recently rediscovered. A search through TN showed that the species was not previously pictured from the UK so it seemed not unreasonable to add it to the gallery.

This location in the Chiltern hills used also to hold a colony of the Adonis Blue L. bellargus but this now regrettably seems to have gone.

The picture is scanned from an old 35mm slide, levels adjusted, cropped, resized and sharpened for TN.

The leaves interrupt a bit and choice for POV is very unique. Nothing to say about the beauty of the insect, and quality of contrasting colors and DOF.

Hello Alan,
this 'old' shot is pretty good. At first glance, it looked like a picture taken with a digital camera ... and also at the second. At the third, I discovered some 'irregularities' at the wing apex, along the antennae and the in the background. But such 'artefacts' are often seen also on digi-pics
Details are great and colours are really natural.
Light is perfect, too.
Best wishes, Peter

well done,

Hello Alan. You collection of butterfly in your gallery amazed me. Superb shot of high quality first class images. Well perched in excellent vivid sharpness against the well managed depth. Regards. Jusni
