I’m quite happy about this one, Alopecosa cuneata is another species I have not seen before so I am happy to be posting this on TN.

There are 17 species of Alopecosa that occur in Europe, they belong to the Lycosidae. They all have a light median band on their carapace and this is accentuated by white hairs. They have fairly stout legs, which in the front two of the males are sometimes darkened and swollen. The females have a burrow for rearing young and will remain with the egg sac in the burrow while periodically exposing the egg sac to sunlight near the burrow opening.

A. cuneatais found mainly on chalk grassland and dunes. It is an uncommon species and locally distributed, it’s widespread in Northern Europe but confined to Southern Britain.

I hope you like her.

This one is for my Dad, Happy Birthday!

bien hecho.

Another sample more of your collection of spiders Paul.
Another sample more than our cameras with maximum F8 not reaches after these macros :-(
Great POV with excellent sharpness and clearness, mainly in the front part of the animal.
To than distance were you of her?
Well done.

Need I say more than that this is going to my favourites. This an absolutely stunning setting - I love it!

I can imagine how happy you must feel in searching and finding a new species to post on TN. This website has certainly opened my eyes to another world of small things. Excellent shot and great note.

Very good macro Paul.
Great sharpness and clearness.
Very good work.

Paul, Congrats on your new find. Since it's Halloween I had planned a spider post but decided to leave that to you! ;-0 (That's a BOO!). This one definitely has the "yuk" factor with the wet slimy look of the surrounding environment. Great POV & detail within your DOF. Hey, watch-out for those ghouls & goblins tonight!! ;-))

Hi Paul, nice shot!good details and colours.
the composition is good to.but looks like the spider has some cleaning to do on his floor! lol

A great shot.
Excellent composition and detail,as much as you can get from F8,just the rear legs falling out of the range.
Great colours and I like the wet slimy surface.
Excellent note too.
Very well done.

Happy Halloween.... Very happy, with this new arrival. The wet look does go well with his striped Carducci daysuite.. :) A modern Euroman! Superb details, splendid compo.

Hi Paul
Happy returns too for your dad. Very nice eye contact here, the leaf to his right looks like snake skin and the diagonal with fading dof is a winner.
How big is it?

Hi, Paul, and awesome gift for your father.. hehe..
Thank you for visiting my work.
I had a glance in your portfolio... and you have excellent macros here!!
Your notes are very useful, also.
Very good work.
Cheers!
Carmem

Hi Paul, what have you planned for the hundredth photo?

This one is sharp. It is the first time I say that about a spider but I like it.
Happy Birthday to your father!
TFS.
