It is a good shot considering your troubles around, now I am beginning to realise how difficult is to take a decent macro shots and you did well with your equipment, one thing is distracting a little bit is the left leg that almost hiding its head, but it is forgiven :)

A very good macro, Paul. Great silk details enhanced by a good light. Our tegenariae are a bit darker. Interesting note about male and female ID. Perfect environment. Males destiny is real hard!

I'm glad to hear that! I hope after spiders insectst also emerge from winter landscape ;-) Very special macro Paul. Front legs are slightly OOF but spider's head is sharp. TFS!

Well done on this capture. Gota take it as it is and make do with them. You did just fine, let's not get too picky.
Well composed and well exposed and focused.
Well done, Sir Paul.

I like this one Paul because your right down to its level. Accurate DOF to get head and abdomen in focus and brilliant details...well done.

The DoF is lacking, but I guess you already know that :). Good note, who would want to come back as a male spider! Nevertheless the shot illustrates the spiders view of the world, looks like rough terrain even for this all terrain walker.

Good one Paul. I can relate to your difficulty with this shot. I was playing the same game today with a bush wolf spider. I just wish my camera would take shots as close as this. I'm going to get one of those 2+ diopter filters...one day.
She was naughty putting that leg out,but its a good shot anyway.Good stuff.

It's a very nice macro Paul, great POV & composition. The OOF legs are distracting me a little, especially the left leg which is blocking her head. It's a very good attempt though, details are very good. TFS!

Great macro Paul.
I don't belive you, no way you took this in 2005, the snowdrift is still a 1/2m high ;-).
Great sharpness, compostion and colours.
Very well done.

Oh yes! I am happy for you, Paul. Winter is here more than ever.
Very great PoV and you managed very well with the light you have had. DoF on the essential.
Thanks for the picture and the note.

I am very pleased to see you posting spiders again, Paul. :) You really got down and got dirty for this shot. Excellent facial features captured here. Did you use a noise removal tool here? (ISO 800)
Another question, sorry... I noticed you did not use the flash?
Excellent capture, well done.
