[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is something you don't see every day. These seeds are waiting to find a new home.
This is another Shot from Coombe Hill. This is the only Shot I got of this Rosehip, why I didn't spend time getting more shots, I don't know.

I've added some facts about the rosehip. If I get the chance to get some more shots, I'd like to do some notes about seed dispersal.
I hope you like this nice spring shot.

Facts about rose hips
Specialist rose books often call hips "heps". The word originally came from the Middle English "hepe". Dialect names for wild rose hips are more extravagant and include "hedge-pedgies", "nippernails", "pixie pears" and "pig's noses".

Hips are a rich source of vitamin C and can be taken as a syrup or eaten. Connoisseurs claim that the Rugosa hips have the best flavour and are the least fiddly to prepare. Each one must be top and tailed, then cut in half to remove the seeds and irritating hairs. Then they are stewed, dried or pounded into a paste for freezing.

Very nice macro Alan, good details and colours. Maybe a wee bit oversharpened - there is a halo evident around the rosehip. It's very nice though.

Very nice shot, Alan. As was previously mentioned the OE and sharpening is my only nits. Very striking composition and color. Interesting write up too. Very well done.

Very nice composition, good light and details. Interesting POV. But the 2 white lines on BG are a bit distracting.
Well done.
