Hi Joe,
Great capture of this mangificant bird! I have never managed to see one in the wild but heard them shout from a short distance several times (in Finland). When that happens unexpectedly you may have change for dry. Very good sharp details, nicely blurred wing tips to give effect of speed, good ligthting and POV, good eye contact and nice colours. Great work!
TFS
Best wishes

Wow, man, this is a real beauty!
Fantastic in-flight image of this Owl staring back at you.
It is incredible how you have got even the expression of defiance in the bird's eye.
That expression says it all; this chap was determined to cut loose.
You have turned into a formidable nature photographer, Joe, and I am very happy about it.
Well done and TFS.
Ram
Hello Joe,
A good in-flight capture, nice tight crop shows a lot of detail. Nice sharpness, I always prefer to get the wings frozen rather than blurred but it works both ways I think. I posted a workshop to lighten the shadows a little, hope you don't mind that.
Cheers,
Adrian

Looks good dark Joey. I think it adds to the mystique of the picture, giving the owl a definite personality. How do they keep them in at the zoo or do they? I have only been at one zoo in Cleveland Ohio where they have a large bio-dome. It is called the Rainforest or some such. It mimics a tropical atmosphere...and it is only one of it's kind around in which the public has such good access....very nicely seen sir!

Hi Joe,
Last time I was at a show with flying owls I couldn't get a single decent shot. I like to think that today I would. This is wonderful and you captured him in a wonderful position. Love that face and those eyes. The folded wings are marvelous. Wonderful colors and details. You did a great job.

Hello Joe,
What a funny face this owl has, he looks as if he has a grand moustache, goatie and fussy eyebrows. I like it Joe, great timing, colors and focus. Thank you for sharing Sir.

Joe,
It looks like an owl had enough of captivity and decided to make it on its own. You should give this photo to the zoo staff so that they can admire a bird the once had :) It is a wonderful capture. I love the pose and detail. It is a very cool image. Great work.
Best Regards,
Martin

Im with Pekka the blurring is effective giving the impression of movement. I don't believe it is too dark either, this adss to the dramatic effect and intent of the bird. Even if the intent was only to interrupt the show, cheers
