Hi Helen. I think its a grey Heron but not 100%. What ever you have taken a very good close up . Your lens has turned out a crisp shot. with good detail and natural colours.well done TFS.

Hello Helen. Excellent shot at this Grey heron. Nicely perched on top of that fall in good lighting. I like the details exposure of the plumage and stunning sharp details around the head. A lovely capture of this proud heron.
The POV you have managed is awesome.
The focus is sharp and the plumage detail is lovely.
This bird is very similar to our Great Blue Heron on this side.

Wonderful shot of this Heron Helen.
I'm guessing its a Grey Heron because everyone else is saying so,but I don't know for sure myself.
Whatever it is,it looks as though it is in breeding plumage.
