[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
If anyone else remembers the famous comedy record by Victor Borge called 'Phonetic Punctuation', they will know that "Quotation Marks are Four Commas". Of course, two have to be facing down and two facing up.

Such was the profusion of Commas, Polygonia c-album, at Bernwood on Sunday that I am able to make a collage of different studies as a tribute to the musical genius of Borge.

All the images have been cropped, resized and sharpened using Photoshop Elements 6. In the picture at bottom right, the Comma is perching on an Oak tree (Quercus robur), while the other three are all feeding on Devils Bit Scabious (Succisa pratensis).

The weather is back to dull Autumnal grey today; I wonder if I'll get another chance to see such beautiful butterflies before winter...

Hello Alan,
A great montage of at least two Comma individuals seen from different POV's. The technical quality of each of the four images is top class with good colours and compositions. Interesting to compare the variations of markings and colours.
We have not seen the Comma as often as usual this year so its an extra bonus to see these fine images.
TFS,
Ivan

Hello Allan,

You have made a nice colage with these photos. Colors are so vivid and strong giving a good feeling to the viewer. The images are sharp showing well the pattern of the wings as well as the texture. There is a nice contrast between the butterflies and the leaf beneath.

Thank you for sharing,
Cristian

Witaj Alan,
Gratuluję i pozdrawiam
Alina

Hello Alan,
How lucky you were to see the Comma in large numbers. I've only seen one in the late summer here! A very nice presentation showing them all together. Fine sharp details and beautiful natural colours too.
Many thanks and regards, Ulla
