[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this Greylag Goose at RSPB Fowlmere in Cambridgeshire today which is only a 30 minute drive from me and I cant believe I havent discovered it before.

Anser anser

The ancestor of most domestic geese, the greylag is the largest and bulkiest of the wild geese native to the UK and Europe. In many parts of the UK it has been re-established by releasing birds in suitable areas, but the resulting flocks (often mixed with Canada geese) found around gravel pits, lakes and reservoirs all year round in southern Britain tend to be semi-tame and uninspiring. The native birds and wintering flocks found in Scotland retain the special appeal of truly wild geese.

Hi Billy. Looks like a good find and only 30 mins away. You had good sun light today by the look of it. You have been able to take a fine close up with sharp focusing and fine detail. Very bright but still natural colours. Your 50D looks good . well done TFS.

Hi Billy,

A marvelous close-up of this Graylag Goose. I think you will be returning to Cambridgeshire. He seems to be looking at you out of the corner of his eye. The eye and beak are beautiful. Nice colors and details of his face and feathers. The natural setting is lovely.
