A Mute Swan
The place where I take the shots of my Swans is a park in Carlisle called Hammonds Pond, It fell into some bad times a few years ago but after a £1m revamp it was offiacially reopened in 2000.
When I started taking photos after receiving my first Digital Camera, I went to the park to find some subjects and was amazed to see about 50 Swans on the pond.
Around June - July this year all the Swans except 3 breeding pairs left the pond, unfortunatly 2 of these pairs were removed to a local nature reserve as there was a lot of fighting going on and a couple of Cygnets were lost.
So all that was left was one pair and 4 Cygnets which are growing fast. That was until this Sunday when two new Swans arrived, this is one of them, the reason they were standing at the side of the pond as a certain cob was stood hissing at the side of the pond.
