Hi Paul. Look as if the weekend was worth it . This is an excellent Landscape. You have used the light so well to give good warm colours. great detail in the clouds. well done TFS.
Nick.. we had rain all day yesterday with poor light today.
Nick..
You have this "way" of making hard things look soft..and soft things looking hard...pretty unusal. I have no clue on how you do it...but it is in many of your pictures....I wonder if that is the way you see it..which means you have a certain developed talent...I guess...whatever it works out well.

Hi Paul, your landscape is amazing. I love the lines converging to the big mount of stones right at the one third upper right side. What a movement. Also, we see the clouds as if descending beneath those rocks and accentuating the effect. The hill that's in the shadow, at left, is beautiful and contrasts with the golden foreground. Congratulation Paul, it's not only the subject but the eye that sees it. Thank you!

This looks like an HDR in PS but that may be just the efffect of a very low wintry sun. Great colors, nice composition.

I don't know what else to say I didn't on your previous shots, but can't leave it without words either.
So a very nice light-shadow game within the rocks and in the whole landscape too. A perfect catch of light! TFS!

Hi Paul, another magnificent shot and well done for catching the light in such turbulent weather, it must have been fierce out there in the open. The light is acturally very effective, soft and low. The granite is nicely lit with good texture and contrast, with the dramatic skyscape as a background. Always clean and sharp and very well composed. Very nice work.

Hi Paul,
The weather conditions have produced some interesing light & shadows..Very good details, colors, and POV in this comp. The focal point of the exposed granite layers, and this dramatic sky, make it work well :)

Hi Paul.
Great job and perfect PP. Stunning scene, tremendous lights and darks, exclusive DOF and razor sharpness of the entire image. POV and composition cannot be better too. Bravo. My compliments.

Hi Paul,
No ocean? What's up with that? Just kidding, I am actually glad to see another photo from the inlands. It shows that your part of the world also has a stunning back country.
I do have to mention that I am a bit baffled by the extreem drop of in sharpness near the corners of the photo. I didn't know that it would be this huge at F9 with the sigma lens. But I do think the photo could use some overall sharpness.
I do like the composition and the wonderfully shaped rock and how the light has illuminated the landscape. That sky is really stunning and has some really nice colors and patterns.

Hello Paul,
I've never been to Dartmoor but from books and films I've got the impression of it always being covered by cloud and mist! At least you've brought in some sunshine here too! And it is a wonderful shot with the sun lighting up those interesting weather-beaten rocks. I like the distant hills and the ominous clouds. Very well composed.
Many thanks, Ulla

This seems taken in the land of Tolkien! What I like most in your pictures is that you always capture the most beautiful landscapes with the most beautiful sunlight, even when the sky is clouded!
You always capture the best of a place. What a gift!
Congratulations and thank you very much for sharing.
Greetings

Hello Paul,
Very interesting light on this mysterious landscape. This area seems to bear a lot of old stories and appears even more dramatic with the shadow part in the back. Very interesting picture.
Thanks a lot. Salutations

raw shot that paul..i can feel the cut in the air
your foreground tells me it wasnt all that bad..
the rings have come up well and remind me of my days trekking west penwith with my two dogs in tow..muffled and coated in waxcoat and heavy boots
main ingredient here is the sky and how it tells of intermittent sun and rain and its formation the speed of the wind
that dark patch over there is on its way so i guess you got the camera safely back into the rucksack.
tomorrow i am off to haigh near wigan for a christmas walk..and i dont want to see this..:)
cheers

Hello Paul,
This is a fine composition, and a beautiful landscape!
You capture here a kind of moment I love, that is dark clouds hanging over while a few sunbeams break through...
The situation is well framed, fine colours and a pleasant feeling of depth!

Hello Paul,
I missed this impressive Dartmoor landscape shot!
The way you captured the lighting here is the key. The contrast between the sunlit grazed vegetation and the greys in the sky and BG hills makes the image striking. The POV and angle of the light on the frost-shattered granite adds impacts and is the focal point in this marvellous composition.
Well done and thanks,
Ivan
