Hi Silke,

I never tire of seeing gulls which we do not have here in Tucson. Nice pose. The grey sky blends in well with his colors. I like the white in his eye.

Hello silke,
Nice shot of a Black(not really)-headed Gull with a frontal view of the head. You managed the difficult lighting very well and kept the exposure on the low side. Nice sharpness and excellent composition.

Very good exposure, details, DOF, and POV. I think the only thing that might improve it would a BG with more contrast to subject..
I had fun shooting these same birds, from our hotel balcony two years ago down on Galvestion Island, Texas.

A new one for me.Very good focus and details.The colours are well saturated as the head appears chocolate brown on my monitor.Excellent eye contact too.The pose is a classic gull pose.TFS

It looks like a very proud Gull. The way he poses really looks like a royal guard. Considering the dull weather, you managed perfect exposure. Looks like that on loan lens did the job perfectly.

The pose of the bird is haughty, waiting for its next bad action.
Good details,up to the fine feathers that are well detailed.
The light on the bird is excellent.

Nice Bird. It seems the focus is centred on the belly of the bird rather than on the eyes or the neck, though I am not sure, It may so happen that a little overexposition of the neck has erased the focussing details. Is this bird a sea-gull?
