We have posted side by side today!
great capture with outstanding colours and details.
I saw lots of these while I was in the UK but never got a really good picture of one. We don't see them around where I live in Canada

Hello Nick,
Very fine profile of the Moorhen from a nice low POV. Very sharp and fine colours. They're very shy here and hard to come near. The big feet makes them walk slowly and look very smart as they walk.

I have yet to photograph a Moorhen properly since they are very timid.
This is a very decent shot.
+++ Excellent low-down POV is perfect, good eye-contact aswell. Well saturated colours and good contrast between bird and BG. Very sharp.

Great close-up of this Moorhen which I have only seen in picture. I love the position so we see his profile. Beautiful colors and good details of the face and plummage. Love the feet!

He almost looks as though he has posed for the picture...you certainly know when to click the shutter release. Very earthy tones...I have only heard of these..well picture Nicholas.

Hi dear Nicholas,
What a nice capture of this beautiful Moorhen. Great pose and nicely composed. Excellent sharpness and details on feathers. Lighting, POV/DOF also great. Its looking backward also very nice.
I captured many Moorhen in this summer, even if today. But they mostly belong to immature and several young. Yours probably adult with reddish bill. This is best model with red. Subadult light coloured bill.

Beautiful picture of Moorhen. I liked the way it has posed for you.:)What a colourful beak for a brown bird. Good sharpness and details in the plumage.We have them here but i have never come across a live one. It's true that they have very large feet. Similar s the case with White breasted Water hen which I have photographed and will post today. Do take a look. You can see the similarities.

Correcto enfoque y sobre todo una buena profundidad de esta Gallinula que en España llamamos " polla de agua ". Excelentes detalles del plumaje y bello colorido. Yo las persigo :-) aunque no es fácil fotografiarlas... siempre se me esconden.
