I wasn't sure if to post this one as I took some better shots of this place. Sadly all the other shots have groynes in them so they will have to go on Trek Lens instead. I watched the sun set from Shoreham-By-Sea beach yesterday whilst my feet got very wet.

Taken on the Sigma 10-20 mm using an ND grad, a tripod and a cable release

I can spot quite a few errors in this shot but I hope you will enjoy the moment

Hi Karan.
I like your very unusual shot. There are many pictures of sunsets here but yours is different. May be it is framing and composition, may by it is effect from wide angle lens. In ant case subject is fine and picture is so pleasant. My compliments and TFS.

Hi Karan,
Every time I see some of your great land/seascapes I convince myself that I must have the Sigma 10-20.
This image is so beautiful, you took it at the right moment, and transmit a peaceful feeling.
The slow shutter speed created that sign of motion on the waves at the shore, that works so well.
My compliments and thanks for share it.
Best regards,
JM

Hello Karan,

When I saw your photo, my first reaction was. I don't like the FG. The BG is perfect. But when I take a look for a longer time I appreciate the FG more and more. Very exclusive and you dare (-: The colours are so superb. Chapeau. Regards and TFS BOB

The moment is SUPERB Karan! I like this smooth texture of the water, tones of colors, DOF and unusual vertical composition. This is well seen and realized. Congrats!

I am very glad you decided to post this one -- the colours are fabulous and I love that you have been able to include the sun in the shot -- very difficult to do without extreme OE

This is one of those shots where breaking the rule works. I like the centered setting sun. I think the reason it works is that the area of greatest contrast is where the surf meets the shore. It seems to shift the balance. The colors and radiance are very nice.

Hi Karan

A very simpe yet very colorful shot from you.
I actually like some photos with this description :) Just a slow setting sun with only small waves to hear...quite relaxing.
However, i'm not ure about the composition - i understand you using the ND grads (which BTW i'm hoping to get very soon) and also wanting to keep that splendid sky in the frame after seeing how beautiful it turnesd out, but you also went for a pronunced FG attention with the camera orientation. With all that, the compo is neither 50-50 nor 1/3 and 2/3...so that's a bit confuzing.
However, maybe in this tranquill setting, the last thing a man should do is think about technical things...perhaps he/she should just enjoy the shere beauty of it.

Cheers
Horia

Hi Karan,
i think the warm colours and light here are just beautiful, the sky is quite 'Turneresque' if there is such a word! Definitely worth posting, worrying about too many minor errors can sometimes take the fun out of things i find.
