Unfortunatly this shot had to be taken in a Zoo as I will never be able to see this magnificent beast in the wild.
The subject is an Amur Tiger which originates from far eastern Russia. There are only three species of tiger left and the Amur is down to about 400 in the wild. I wanted to capture the magesty of this animal with no hint of its captivity. The shot was made through glass which presented problems of both reflection and marks on the glass. I had to find an area that was fingerprint free and a time when no other flash photography was taking place. There is a small ammount of reflection in front of the nose but I was happy with the overall picture. |
