I appreciate that the seed tray I have put out for my visiting pheasants isnt the best place to capture a Robin but I was pleased to see this one today in my garden as I havent seen one for a couple of months.

Erithacus rubecula
The UK's favourite bird - with its bright red breast it is familar throughout the year and especially at Christmas! Males and females look identical, and young birds have no red breast and are spotted with golden brown. Robins sing nearly all year round and despite their cute appearance, they are aggressively territorial and are quick to drive away intruders. They will sing at night next to street lights.

Hi Billy,

A beautiful capture of this Robin in the pheasant's tray. I have only seen them in pictures and never realized what long legs they have. Excellent pose, beautiful colors, fine details of the face, eye and feathers. I love the facial expression.

Jane
