This Glorious Frog is a Common One.
I think its a shame to call such a wonderful part of Nature Common but thats just my opinion.

Common Frog - Rana temporaria
Tailless amphibian - Smooth skin

Tends to jump not walk

Horizontal ovoid pupil

Dorsal surface and flanks, Very variable in colour, typically yellowish brown, brown but may be olive green coloured and some individuals have a reddish or yellow appearance. Variably spotted or striped.

Ventral surface, Males, dirty white or pale yellow, speckled with grey or brown; females pale yellow to orange

The most consistent markings are the dark patch behind the eye and the strong barring on the hind limbs.

Length: 6 - 9 cm

Hi Billy. This one is just great. You must have been on the ground to get this low POV. Its looking straight at you with the big eyes. good detail and colours. well done TFs.
Nick..

Hello Billy,

Great, low pov which gives eye-to-eye contact with the frog.
Excellent colour and texture details of the skin.
The dof really picks him out in the blurred grass.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Billy,
Nice low frontal POV photo showing what might be a frog's eye view of the Common Toad (Bufo bufo). Your focusing on the toad is perfect with a fine OOF grassy BG in a straight forward composition.
Well done and thanks,
Ivan

Hola Billy.
What a beautiful and lovely face. just great image Billy. Good sharpness and fine details.
Saludos
Luis52.

Awesome shot! I admit to being a bit jealous! He's in his own environment, the pov is perfect as is the depth of field. Excellent details - what a perfect shot!

Hi Billy
Low POV and view from behind the grass blades is fantastic. I like the idea and title very much. sharpness on main object is great and colors are natural i like it very much

Hello Billy. Good sharp focus on the subject. Details are visible properly. Good usage of shallow depth. I like your idea of low POV here and get to the subjects height. Brown color of frog has good contrast with the background green grass.

Hi Billy

Very nice shot of this cute frog.
I do agree with you...sometime the term "common" seems like an understatement for some animals...
Yet, there is nothing common about the shot - the low POV and the straight ahead direction are quite hard to catch at the same time (since this is a free ans wild animal and it has the tendency to jump around) but you nailed it and got this very nice, intimate view.
I'm especially amazed by the fact that you shot this with your big Sigma...what distance were you from the toad?
Anyway, with that distance you had even less control over the positioning and pose of your subject. So, once more, congrats!
The DOF you chose is also excellent - shallow enough to blur the FG and BG, but deep enough to keep the toad's head sharp.
Overall, an excellent close-up!

Bravo and TFS
Horia

PS: Nori is and has always been a great rider. I hope that Spies and Biaggi can put a nice fight all season long :)
