Bird Nearly On a Wire
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I took this picture this evening as the sun was dropping down the sky with my new (second hand!!) lense, the Sigma 120-300 f2.8
I have a lot to learn about this lense and its capabilities as I have only had it a couple of days but a few test shots show it seems to be sharp and combines well with the 50d.
This bird is a wood pigeon and I tracked him in servo mode with just the centre point active.
I am looking forward to a (hopefully) good summer with some new equipment. |

Hi Billy. Well if this is just the start we are due some first class pictures from you . You used the evening light to give warm colours to a very sharp picture indeed. With fine detail. I am told this is sigmas sharpest lens . Well done TFS.
Nick..
Have a good weekend my friend.
Hi Billy,
First of all, I must thank you for your very incisive critique on my picture of a dragonfly.
You are a well equipped nature photographer, as I could make out from your complete profile, and a daring one for that.
Coming to your picture of a Wood Pigeon you took with your second-hand Sigma 120-300mm, it is a brilliant shot at the camera settings you chose for this action shot. The resultant image is tack sharp with almost uniform focus on the entire subject.
Looking forward to more of your work.
