I captured this Male Blackbird (Turdus merula) on a walk this afternoon.
Blackbird (Turdus merula)
The males live up to their name but, confusingly, females are brown often with spots and streaks on their breasts. The bright orange-yellow beak and eye-ring make adult male blackbirds one of the most striking garden birds. One of the commonest UK birds, its mellow song is also a favourite. |

Belly nice Billy:-) The fence is not as as obnoxious as one I took. I liked mine but the sign got in the way. yours is still a perch of worthy! I have added mine in workshop for comparison.

Hi Billy,
This Blackbird is stunning! A wonderful pose on the fence showing off his profile and beautiful feathers. The black is perfect and the orange beak and eye ring are exquisite. Beautiful details of the face, wings, and tail feathers. I love the background and composition.
