One of the captive Marsh Frogs from the BWC.

Marsh Frog (Rana ridibunda) (Introduced)

The marsh frog is not a native species of the United Kingdom, it was introduced to Walland Marsh, Kent in 1935, it is now found in several areas of Kent and East Sussex. Other introductions exist, including colonies in Southwest and West London.

The true impact of the marsh frog on native herpetofauna has not been established.

The weed by his mouth is Common duckweed (Lemna minor)

Judging by what he holds on his mouth, If kissed I suspect this fella to turn into a leprechaun ratehr than a charming prince...

Hmm... the eyes are a bit soft though.. But i like it because it scares me. I just don't like 'em frogs

Hi Gary,
a lovely shot from a perfect POV.
The sharpness and colours are wonderful.
Seems as if he's smiling with a little cloverleaf at his mouth.

Great shot Gary, with lots of detail and texture showing, wonderful colours, and a high impact POV (point of view). Excellent! Just to nitpick, I'd suggest to increase the sharpness a bit after resizing and compressing.
A very warm welcome to TN,
Gabi

Hi Gary,
This is a great portrait of this frog. It seems to have a huge mouth...
I like the centred composition and the low point of view.
The colors are nice and I like the reflections in the water.
Bravo !

Gary, nice photo. I like the depth of field taking in the nose and eyes. I guess it was looking up at an angle rather than taken from ground level but it works well. Well captured.

Being ultra critical the only thing I'm not keen on are the drops of water under the right side of the chin which are indistinct and a bit of a distraction.

Regards

Phil.
