[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
two shots of these king penguins stitched together. hard to get the exposure right due to high contrast even in the shade, has anyone got any tips.
King penguins have adapted well to their extreme living conditions in the sub antarctic. To keep warm, the penguins have four layers of feathering. The outer layer of feathers are oiled and waterproof, not unlike the feathering of a duck. The inner three layers are down feathers, very effective insulation. A chick is born without the oily outer layer, and therefore cannot fish until maturity. So keeping it all in tip top condition is essential every day maintenance.

Hello Sue,
This is a very nicely set out photo and beautifully presented. The long profile view works well here. This photo would look great framed and hung on a wall somewhere nice.
regards
Matt.

Hi Sue,
Very nice composition with the stitching, which has been done quite seamlessly. Great color and sharpness as well.
