Hallo Nicholas
This is such a charming little bird to look at. Not only is the colour of the plumage a feast to the eye, the greenery it is captured on is a delightful addition to this already special image. One can almost say its has been captured on a green carpet. The combination of colours on its short tail feathers is lovely and it looks as if a special glow lightens the soft coloured plumage at its bottom and stomach. The clarity of the sharp charcoal coloured beak and the sharp nails on the paws is super. All the best for 2009 and thanks for your valuable input on the site in the past.

Nice one of a Nuthatch showing how colourful the backside is! You also managed to get pretty well all of it in focus as it turned its head with good use of the ambient light to produce a nice contrasting dark BG.

I wish we had all the Nuthatches and Tits that you have instead of all of our sparrows!! This is stunning - a perfect pose (always) showing off this beautiful bird with excellent colors and details. The face, eye, and feathers are magnificent. I love the black background and the fantastic horizontal composition. Happy New Year to you and your family.

Beautiful capture of this nuthatch. Excellent sharpness. I like very much the composition with the black background. Beautiful vivid colours. Cold here -8C last night. I put some food for the birds, but I think they find better elsewhere, they do not come on my balcony.

This is a very good photo of this quick moving bird. You have chosen a very fine POv showing so well the bird. Plumage colors are very nicely rendered, colors being saturated but vivid and naturaly looking.

A very fine picture of the Nuthatch, shown in a nice and not too usual pose.
The black background is in good contrast to the bird's marvellous plumage and the light falls perfectely on the bird and gives to its eyes a special glance.
