Hi Nick,
a truly superb picture in my opinion, however I have to agree with Ferret on the incorrect id. This is not a Coal tit for sure. I would identify this bird as a Marsh tit (Parus palustris), as the only other option, the Willow tit, has a paler zone on the secondaries, which we can't see here, and the secondaries are pretty well visible.

Hello Nick,
a nice picture of a Marsh Tit Or Willow Tit, it's not a coal Tit.
My guess it's a Marsh Tit.
It's well composed with god sharpness and fine DOF.
It stand-out nicely from the BG.

Hello Nick,
I'm sorry that I Didn't see this excellent shot of a Marsh Tit earlier. You can see this is a Marsh Tit by its browner back, the more extensive black crown, and the smaller black bib.
This was taken from a great lateral POV with your usual high standard of sharpness, colours and lighting against a fine neutral BG.
Thanks and all the best,
Ivan

Such a cute bird, and captured with such talent ! I think everything on this picture is just perfect : flawless sharpness and details, natural colors, wonderful blurred BG, cute pose of the bird, splendid composition and POV, and I also like the lines on the old piece of wood. Very well done !

Hi Nick
Lovely Marsh Tit you have there - looks a touch too tidy for it to be the Willow Tit IMO... We have 1 or 2 that visit our bird table/oil tank through the colder months, but I have not managed to get a picture worthy of this or posting on TN.
The light is exceptional and well controlled.
TFS

Lovely clear shot Nick with the bird standing out well against the out of focus background, I like it.
I don’t think it is a Coal Tit though, I think it is either a Marsh Tit (Parus palustris) or a Willow Tit (Parus montanus) these two are notoriously difficult to tell apart even in the hand and I am no expert but I would plump for it being a Marsh Tit.
