Hello Dave. Welcome to TN. You've started off with a tough one. Black and white's are very hard to control, you've done really well with both.
Next time think about what image you want to capture before taking it. A birds reflection is always really important, the swans head reflected in this water would have been perfect.
Also the swan is just a tiny bit soft in focus, but it isn't too distracting.
Well done and keep them coming.
