I thought I would try out something slightly different, a macro, but with a different POV. I have also been trying out different ISO settings.

Speedwell, Germander Speedwell,Veronica chamaedrye, member of the "Figwort" family. This plant grows to about 40cm, with flowers about to about 15mm, this one was about 8-10mm across. They flower from May to August, so this one is early!!...

They thrive on meadows, scrub and woodland edges.

The Common (Heath) Speedwell is similar, but carries longer stalked flowering heads up to 25 lilac flower heads.

ISO 200
Shutter 1/320
F-stop f/10

Manual focus, natural light, but with very slight diffused flash, directed to "bounce" on the plant. Mirror lock utilised as was remote shutter release.

I am hoping to show the flower petals, but also parts of the underside and leaf.

Don't think this is my best shot!!! but a bit of experimenting does no harm. All feedback, comments etc, gratefully received.

Hi Howard.
My sincere congratulations. Great true macro shot. Amazing details and excellent lighting. Colour reproduction is great too. I also like your very good technique of macro shooting. Well done and TFS. I thinks it would be better to save more space on the left side. It is also interesting for me have you used cropping and what is diameter of the flower. We have very small species only. Thanks for sharing and my compliments.
Alexei.

Hello Howard
I like much this small flower, and I never manage to have it as well as you.
It is always too exposed

Laurent
