Last image from the woods and surrounding area where I get most of my British Wild Plants from. This bank is opposite the "Buttercup" bank first uploaded. It is deceptively steeper than it looks, also, several large Common oak grow here, giving heavy shade. The hedgerow at the horizon is also about 7-8ft high. Very dense hawthorne grow here, acting both as a good windbreak, the the roots binding the friable and lime/chalk rich soil together.

The trees are substantial, but are well sheltered and suffer little wind damage.

Most of the spring flowers are now gone, the leaf storey casting too much shade to allow many plants to flourish.

This was taken with 10-20 wide angle lens. Tripod mounted, ISO 100, Shutter 1/40, and f4.0 (I think -- could be wrong!!)

The shade has been left in, because it is heavily shaded! Only PP was cropping the bottom, and a mild "temperature" alteration while in RAW before sizing.

Now the weather has perked up a bit, I hope to try out my new "ring flash" on a few insects. I have loads of plants here, but I fancy a change....

Hello Howard,
Another from the blue flowers on the hill, also a nice composition.
One point, the air looks overexposed and in the trees right you see purple fringe.

Gert

Hi Howard, spring saga continuing! Splendid landscape full with spring colours, violet, green etc. TFS my friend! Cheers,

Hellow Howard,
I like the low POV showing the bluebell slope from a fine angle with the hedgerow on the horizon and the oak branch and more distant tree adding interest to the composition.
I can almost imagine the scent!
TFS this fine image,
Ivan

Lovely image, Howard!

A polarizing filter could have given you better sky color, I think.

Cheers!

Hi Howard.
You have been surrounded by amazing places. Grass and flowers, trees ad bushes are wonderful. Diagonal composition of the image is very impressive and exposure opposite of light sky is superb. Well done and my kind regards.
Alexei.
