Yellowhammer in silhouette
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This a post that could be posted as a Landscape or a Bird shot.
The bird is a Yellowhammer (Emberiza citrinella)
The picture was taken in a remote part of the countryside which I often frequent and there was a flock of at least 30 skipping between trees and hedges trying to settle on a grain spillage on a sharp bend on a narrow road in which I parked my car right in the middle of.
I failed to get a decent picture of a male or female but will post one for id in the workshop.
According to the RSPB the Yellowhammer is on the Red List of UK species so I feel very happy to have had the pleasure or observing a flock of them. |

Hi Billy . One of the thigs i likeabout this picture is the light and the way the tree in the BG is OOF. A great silhouette of the Yellowhammer on the twig. There is a slight warm glow in the sky from the sun. very well done TFS.
Nick..
PS i have not seen one in Dorset for a long time.
Billy,
I like what you've done with the composition in this shot. I also like the look of the bird against the bright sky. The colors, POV and overall setting work quite well. TFS.
Best Regards,
Martin
