This is a nice side portrait of an avocet. The side light is effective. Exposure on the whites is perfect. At first I thought it might be cropped too tightly on the top... but when I opened up the image I noticed how that close crop really emphasizes the length of the legs.

He's wonderful - love that curved bill and muddy leg. He has character! A beautiful shot and you caught him in a great position. Excellent colors and details of his face and plummage. Very nice contrast between the Avocet and the background.

Un interesante trabajo Pekka, con unas texturas del plumaje muy reales. Buena luz y acertado fondo. Creo que el encuadre es algo cerrado y un poco más de espacio a los lados mejoraría sustancialmentye la toma.
