You captured the female. The male has much britter plumage. White patch on the head etc. Wonderful capture. Great PP work

Hee hee, great shot. I didn't see the original but it appears that you have done some cloning, there are some arc-shaped artifacts to the left of the bird, I'm being picky by pointing them out as it is a very good post. Hurry back! We miss you too.

Nice duck. I think is the first time I see one of that species. Your composition for this picture is great and the lighting too. Good idea to use your flash as a fill light.
