Hi Peter,
Beautiful subject, BG, composition. However, the bird is not sharply in focus. Focus is sharper on the branch than on the bird. Maybe it was windy or moving it's head? Eye of the bird (focal point of the pic) is too close to the center of the pic, I would have preferred a crop with it in the left third of the image with empty space looking to the right of it.

Hi Peter,
what a great composition. The green colours of the finch come out really well. The Greenfinch is so common, but when taking a closer look at it, it's a magnificent bird.

p.s. Does the autofocus work with the combination of 1.4 t.c.+ 100-400 and eos 1Ds? The D20 doesn't support this.

Hi Peter, a beautiful portrait of this Greenfinch, perfect dof bringing the bird to the front of the frame. Nice pose and wonderful colours, pin sharp with great lighting.Perfect POV on the branch. An excellent composition.

Very nice capture of this bird. He stands out against the blurred bg. Very nice composition and pose. Maybe the focus is a bit soft on the head, looks like he moved. Good details on the feathers.
