Hello Everyone,

I hope I haven't offended anyone with this title but the bird just looked to be saying " Do I look okay from the back?" and since my daughter is always asking if her butt looks big, these words came to mind!

I have often seen pictures of birds on this site, but I have rarely seen studies from the back. For the purpose of identification, both can be useful. (I will put the front view in my w/s.)

This robin visited my garden and kept doing full turns on the pot. It occurred to me how interesting it would be to take him from a different point of view, a sort of bird's eye view. I like the way he cocks his tail and extends his wings.

Someone from U.S.A. asked me if the robins had come early to England this year and I had to explain that they were all-year-round birds here! In fact, they tend to stand out more in winter and that is why we associate them with Christmas.

Many thanks for your visit.
I hope you enjoyed it.
Please feel free to offer feedback on any aspect of the photograph! :-)

Hello Bev,
very beautiful framing of this composition!
I loved the pose of the bird with good clarity on the plummage!
good captured of DOF in good colour and details
well done
have a wonderful weekend, Bev!
Tony

If you open your legs so much it would my dear! This robin, maybe the most nemurous bird in the UK, caught in an unexpected pose. What you did with the frame is very interesting. Maybe its the consequence of the rush, the exposure speed is on the low side. Thanks for sharing the info and the buttomy bird cutie with us...

Oh you mean the word with a double 'T', Beverley! For a moment, I was confused about your title.
The rear portion of this Robin looks quite okay to me, though I would have preferred sharper focus on its eye. IMHO, a bird's eye is a very important factor in a bird picture.
You have composed the shot very well and the blurred BG suits the subject to perfection.
TFS and regards.

Hi Bev,
lol, no, no offence taken! It's a great pose you've caught and your title is perfect! I think your composition is excellent and the image has softness to it that has created a lovely effect.
Thanks and have a great weekend,
Paul
